Leesburg’s new Fire Station 71 opens for public tours Sept. 2

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — Lake County Fire Rescue will celebrate the opening of its new Fire Station 71 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and public open house.

The event will take place Wednesday, Sept. 2, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the new station, located at 33661 County Road 473 in Leesburg.

Visitors will be able to tour the station, meet firefighters and first responders, and view fire apparatus and emergency equipment.

“We’re proud to welcome residents into Station 71 and give them a closer look at the important work our firefighters do every day to keep Lake County safe,” Lake County Public Safety Director David Kilbury said.

The ceremony will also be livestreamed on the Lake County Fire Rescue Facebook page for those unable to attend.
