WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Legoland Florida is among the most overrated attractions in the country, according to a new study comparing online popularity with visitor reviews.
Travel company Stasher ranked the Winter Haven theme park seventh on its list of the 10 most overrated attractions in the United States.
The study examined 665 U.S. attractions using Wikipedia pageviews, TikTok and Instagram hashtag activity and Tripadvisor ratings.
Legoland Florida received a 3.9 out of 5 Tripadvisor rating and an online popularity score of 78.6, according to the study.

The study also ranked Legoland ninth among Florida’s 10 most popular attractions online.
It was the only attraction in that Florida top 10 with a Tripadvisor rating below 4 out of 5.
Walt Disney World ranked first for online popularity in Florida, followed by EPCOT, Universal Studios Florida, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
SeaWorld Orlando ranked sixth, followed by Everglades National Park, Universal Islands of Adventure, Legoland Florida and Gatorland.
Nine of Florida’s 10 most popular attractions in the study were theme parks, with Everglades National Park the only exception.
What the study considered
Stasher described attractions as overrated when they had high levels of online attention but comparatively lower visitor ratings.
Jacob Wedderburn-Day, CEO and co-founder of Stasher, said a destination can have strong online visibility while still falling short of some visitors’ expectations.
“With a theme park, there are plenty of factors that can shape that, from queues and weather to ticket costs and how much of the park suits the ages in your group,” Wedderburn-Day said.
The study ranked the Hollywood Walk of Fame in California as the nation’s most overrated attraction, followed by Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey and Plymouth Rock in Massachusetts.
The ranking is based on Stasher’s methodology and does not represent an official tourism or industry rating.
