Man possibly killed by lightning strike in Port Orange identified

PORT ORANGE, Fla. — Lightning could be to blame for the death of a man working on a roof in Port Orange Friday.

Port Orange police said 25-year-old Steven Gang’s death was "storm-related," but no other details have been released.

The accident happened in the Water's Edge neighborhood of Port Orange.

No other injuries were reported.

Neighbors said they heard loud thunder from a strong storm quickly moving through.

"The guy who was fixing our AC felt it in his hand and he said, 'Wow the lightning is so strong,' and I said, 'get in,'" said resident Susan Smith.

An autopsy to confirm how Gang died is scheduled for Monday.
