SANFORD, Fla. — A 27-year-old Sanford man faced a Seminole County judge Wednesday on charges he shot and killed Brandon Bryant outside a motel on Goldsboro Boulevard.
The shooting happened on April 12 at about 11 p.m. outside American West Inn, the Sanford Police Department said.
Witnesses told investigators that they saw Dwayne Brown approach Bryant’s car and point a gun at him before getting in the back seat.

Brown then allegedly opened fire, shooting Bryant several times, police said.
Bryant died about 30 minutes after officers arrived at the motel, investigators said.
Wednesday was not Brown’s first time in front of a judge.
In 2015, he was accused of threatening to kill an 11-year-old boy who was a witness in a criminal case.
Brown was given a plea deal in the case that allowed him to get out of jail on time served.
He was being held without bond at the Seminole County Jail on charges of attempted first-degree felony robbery with a firearm and homicide.
