LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — Lake County deputies arrested a man Tuesday they said shot and killed a father in a Lady Lake neighborhood over the weekend.
Detectives said Jeremy Yelton, 25, was walking down Griffen View drive when Michael Cates, 48, got out of the car to confront him.
Cates was upset because he claims Yelton beat up Cates' step-daughter.
The two got into a fight and it ended with Yelton being shot and killed.
Cates has been charged with second-degree murder.
