MARION COUNTY, Fla. — Registration is now open for the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Academy beginning in September.
The free, seven-week program gives participants a closer look at the agency’s operations, personnel, equipment, policies and procedures.
Classes will cover several areas of the Sheriff’s Office, including law enforcement, investigations, detention and administration. Participants will also hear from agency experts and see equipment used by specialty units.
Classes begin Tuesday, Sept. 15, and will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Operations Center, located at 692 NW 30th Ave. in Ocala.
