MIAMI, Fla. — American Airlines is accepting applications for its 2027 flight attendant trainee classes, with Miami among the airline’s top hiring bases.
Interested applicants can learn about the role and apply through American’s flight attendant careers website through Sunday, Oct. 18.
The airline plans to welcome new trainees during the first half of 2027. Other top hiring bases include Charlotte, North Carolina; Dallas-Fort Worth; and Chicago, according to American.
American said it is updating its recruiting process to give candidates a clearer understanding of the job’s demands and what to expect during interviews.
The airline is sharing the steps of the selection process in advance to help applicants prepare and decide whether the career is a good fit.
Flight attendants’ responsibilities include maintaining safety standards and assisting passengers throughout their trips.
American has more than 30,000 flight attendants based at 10 locations across the United States. About half have worked for the airline for more than 10 years, the company said.
The announcement did not specify how many flight attendants American plans to hire or how many positions will be based in Miami.
