More than 100 Orlando-area workers face layoffs at Hancock Whitney Bank, AssistRx.

ORLANDO, Fla. — More than 100 workers in Orange County are expected to lose their jobs following layoff announcements from two Orlando-area companies.

Hancock Whitney Bank says 52 employees at its Pineloch Avenue location will be laid off following the company’s acquisition of a Florida bank.

Meanwhile, local pharmacy company AssistRx plans to eliminate 86 positions by the end of November.

The company could make additional cuts in the coming months, with as many as 137 more jobs potentially eliminated through May.

Combined, the announced and potential cuts could affect hundreds of workers in the Orlando area.

The layoffs come as both companies make changes to their operations. Employees affected by the cuts were not identified in the information provided.
