All 45 of its clubs and its more than 1,600 members set out to feed as many people in need as possible. A need that is only growing in Central Florida.
“Right now, in Central Florida, 1 in 7 people are struggling to get enough food to put on the table,” said Greg Higgerson, with the Second Harvest Foodbank of Central Florida.
“We’ve done food collections at grocery stores and had all that food come here to Second Harvest Foodbank,” said Barry Gainer, with Rotary Clubs of Central Florida.

The group celebrated the donation of 1,000,000 meals on Friday. Its goal for 2022 was achieved in less than four months.
“One thing I learned is that 1,000,000 meals is just 1% of what’s needed in Central Florida. The need is absolutely incredible,” a Rotarian told Channel 9.
