Neighbors complain of man's giant monster trucks in Belle Isle

BELLE ISLE, Fla. — A Belle Isle man has a bit of celebrity status when he drives his huge truck around town, but some of his neighbors aren't fans of the oversized vehicles that sit in front of his home

"I think I am being discriminated against, that's what I think," said Glen Harris, who owns two giant trucks he has named Black Magic and Iron Revenge.

Some of Harris' neighbors have complained to the city about the vehicles, which are Guiness World Record-holders.

Harris isn’t breaking any city ordinances, but he said Code Enforcement has paid him a visit from time to time. He said his neighbors have tried to get him for just about everything he does.

Harris said he pays his taxes just like everyone else. He said he knows the trucks' beauty is only in the eye of the beholder, but that doesn't mean he should have to move them.

"'It's an eyesore'. And I do understand that sentiment considering those who are saying it, but they don't live close to me. It doesn't affect them," he said.

Harris said he's just tired of fighting. He said he moves the trucks from time to time in an effort to be a good neighbor.

Iron Revenge was in the shop Thursday being lifted from 10 to 13 feet.
