ORLANDO, Fla. — Trader Joe’s has announced an opening date for its new east Orlando store, with shoppers getting their first look Thursday, Nov. 5.
The new location at 1444 N. Alafaya Trail will open at 8 a.m. with a grand opening celebration featuring samples and a reusable bag giveaway, according to the company.
What to know before you go
The store will operate from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Trader Joe’s said the 9,264-square-foot location will be its second Orlando store. The company hired more than 70 employees from surrounding communities and transferred others from nearby locations.
Store manager Randy Stewart and employees will welcome customers on opening day.
Food donations planned daily
Through Trader Joe’s Neighborhood Shares program, the store will donate unsold products that remain fit to eat to nonprofit community organizations seven days a week, the company said.
The opening adds another location to the chain’s Central Florida presence. WFTV previously reported on Trader Joe’s purchase of its Dr. Phillips property.
