ORLANDO, Fla. — Valencia College President Kathleen Plinske and Florida A&M University President Marva Johnson are signing a new transfer agreement on Tuesday that creates a direct path from Valencia to FAMU.
The partnership, called the VC-FAMU Ignite Program, guarantees admission to FAMU for eligible Valencia College students who earn an Associate in Arts degree or selected Associate in Science degrees.
The two-plus-two agreement gives Orlando-area students a structured route to continue their education at FAMU’s main campus in Tallahassee.
Students who choose to enroll in the Ignite program enjoy extra academic support and wonderful opportunities to connect with the university before transferring. They can look forward to regular visits to FAMU’s vibrant Tallahassee campus, exciting access to FAMU’s sporting events, libraries, and recreation centers, as well as wonderful scholarship opportunities for those who qualify.
The signing ceremony was held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday on the patio outside the Student Services Building at Valencia College’s West Campus.
