GENESEO, N.Y — Authorities have scheduled a news conference to release more information on the case of a teenager whose body was found in a western New York cornfield 35 years ago.
The Livingston County Sheriff's Office has scheduled a news conference for 2 p.m. Monday at its headquarters in Geneseo.
WHAM-TV in Rochester reports that police are expected to announce that the body has been identified as that of a girl who went missing from Florida in 1979.
Her body was found on Nov. 10 of that year in a field just off Route 20 in the rural town of Caledonia, about 18 miles southwest of Rochester. Police say she had been shot in the back of the head.
