ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash early Sunday morning where one motorcyclist was killed, and another was injured, after two motorcycles traveling above the speed limit crashed on Innovation Way, south of State Road 434 in Orange County.
Both riders were traveling northbound around 1:41 am when they failed to negotiate a curve, according to officials. The motorcycles ran off the roadway and struck a curb, throwing both riders from their vehicles.
The rider operating a 2015 Yamaha FZ-09 struck a fence after being thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second rider, who was operating a 2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14, was transported to AdventHealth East with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under active investigation.
