ORLANDO, Fla. — Officials are investigating after they said a security guard at an apartment complex shot and killed an armed man Tuesday morning.
Deputies said just before 4:30 a.m., the guard was sitting in his patrol car at the Green Gables Apartments in the 5100 block of Via Alazar when he was approached by three men.
One suspect started talking to the guard in a different language before brandishing a gun, deputies said. The guard then pulled his gun and shot one of the men, according to officials.
The suspect was taken to an area hospital where he later died.
Deputies are continuing to search for the two other men that approached the guard.
The shooting remains under investigation.
