Deputies: Man threatening people with knife dies after deputy-involved shooting in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, FLa. — A man has died after a deputy-involved shooting Sunday evening, according to Orange County deputies.

The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. at a La-Z-Boy department store on East Colonial Drive, near Rouse Road.

Deputies said they responded to the area for reports of a traffic crash.

Deputies said the man pulled out a knife and threatened employees inside the business.

The man was struck by two vehicles in the area before getting up and moved to the La-Z-Boy, a witness told investigators.

After two Orange County deputies told the man to drop the knife, the man moved toward the deputies, who then shot the man, officials said.
