ORLANDO, Fla. — Early Saturday morning, thousands of runners lined up at Lake Eola for the first in-person race in Orlando since the coronavirus pandemic began.
Track Shack put safety plans in place for everyone to stay safe at the race, including fewer runners and spacing out the runners in waves.

They said staff and runners must have an actual mask, not just a bandana, buff or gaiter. Runners can take theirs off once they’ve started the race but must put it back on immediately after they finish.
The owners of Track Shack said both city and county officials gave them the green light after they reviewed their COVID-19 safety plan.
