Orlando brothers arrested in armed robbery of Suntrust bank

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police said two bank robbery suspects are behind bars Monday.

Investigators said Jashua Daniel, 23, and Jahmahree Daniel, 22, robbed the Suntrust bank on John Young Parkway on June 9.

The brothers were allegedly armed and covering their faces during the bold robbery at 9:30 in the morning. According to police, employees at the bank were tied up with zip ties, and guns were pointed at their heads.

"All of a sudden she screamed, 'We're being robbed,'" customer Edie Gualin said.

The suspects' mother, Maria Daniel, was also arrested and charged with tampering with evidence. Police said after the robbery, Maria Daniel took the vehicle used in the crime to a body shop to be painted.

Detectives said while being questioned, Maria Daniel led them to a storage unit where they found a bag of wet clothes, a pellet gun and backpacks containing more than $67,000.

A tracking device that was placed with the money was found discarded in Jahmahree's apartment complex, according to police.

The brothers were charged with robbery with a firearm and kidnapping.
