Orlando International Airport prepares for busiest spring break travel period

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando International Airport is only one day from its busy spring break travel season.

The airport expects more than 7 million people to pass through during the travel period.

That number is a 13% increase from last year.

OIA believes Mar. 25 will be the busiest day, with about 173,000 passengers.

According to a report, the second busiest day overall at the airport was recorded last weekend, with over 89,800 passengers.

The increased traffic also relates to increased passengers among other transportation services, including LYNX, Breeze, Avelo, Southwest and Spirit Airlines.

The travel period will end in April.
