ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Police Department arrested 38-year-old John Dombroski on Aug. 25 after a monthlong investigation into child sexual abuse material found on a desktop computer.
The investigation began in July when OPD responded to a call at an electronics store. Store employees informed investigators that they discovered child sexual abuse material while running diagnostics on a computer brought in by a customer.
Following the initial report, Orlando police obtained multiple search warrants during the probe. Investigators found hundreds of illegal files on the desktop computer.
Officers obtained an arrest warrant for Dombroski after reviewing the evidence, executed the warrant, and took Dombroski into custody without incident.
Dombroski faces 116 counts of possession of material depicting the sexual performance of a child involving more than 10 images. He also faces one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
OPD stated that the investigation remains active.
