Orlando McDonald’s earns most Google reviews in national study

The Sand Lake Road restaurant tops Central Florida’s ratings among locations included in an analysis of more than 20 million reviews

ORLANDO, Fla. — An Orlando McDonald’s known for its arcade and expanded menu has another distinction, according to a new analysis: more Google reviews than any other McDonald’s included in the nationwide ranking.

The restaurant at 6875 W. Sand Lake Road had 28,220 reviews and a calculated average rating of 4.02 out of five stars, according to figures supplied by SEO Backlinks, the company behind the analysis.

That was more than three times the review count of any other restaurant in its dataset, the company said. The location ranked ninth in Florida by average rating and first among qualifying restaurants in Central Florida.

McDonald’s has featured the Sand Lake Road restaurant among its most distinctive U.S. locations, highlighting its pizza, pasta, play area and arcade games.

How the ranking was calculated

SEO Backlinks said it collected Google review data Oct. 5 for 12,834 open McDonald’s restaurants across the country, including 846 in Florida.

Only restaurants with at least 500 reviews were included. The company said it calculated averages using the number of reviews at each star level rather than Google’s rounded displayed rating.

Florida’s qualifying restaurants averaged 3.46 stars, placing the state 17th among the 50 states and Washington, D.C. Each restaurant received equal weight in the statewide average.

The results reflect online reviewers’ ratings at the time the data was collected. They are not food safety ratings or an inspection of restaurant operations.
