She said Anderson will now move from UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville to an inpatient rehabilitation center in Orlando.

Police Chief John Mina tweeted to the Gainesville Police Department, the Alachua Sheriff's Office and the University of Florida Police Department, "Thank you for taking care of (Officer) Will Anderson and family while they were up at Shands!"

Three teens have been charged in connection with the case.

Edward Kelty, 17, has been charged with attempted second-degree murder of a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.

Kelty's mother has filed an excessive force complaint against Anderson, who opened fire as he was hit by the car.

A GoFundMe account that was set up for Anderson's family to help pay medical bills has reached almost $40,000.
