ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Police Department said it responded to a potential threat at Boone High School on Wednesday.
Officials said the incident happened after receiving reports of a suspicious armed individual outside the campus.
Police said the incident prompted a precautionary lockdown and heightened security measures at Boone High School and nearby Blankner School.
A representative from Orange County Public Schools shared the following update with Channel 9:
“Boone High School was placed on a lockdown out of an abundance of caution by the Orlando Police Department, after the school received a phone call reporting an unconfirmed threat outside the campus. At no point was there an active threat inside the school. All students and staff remained safe throughout the entire incident. They have since been given the all-clear and resumed normal operations.”
