Orlando Police make breakthrough in 2025 homicide investigation

Detectives say yearlong investigation led to second-degree murder charge in death of Nevaeh Zeigler

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police say a man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a deadly shooting that happened more than a year ago.

Detectives established probable cause to charge Marcus Antoinne Lambert, 65, with second-degree murder in the death of Nevaeh Shyanna Marie Zeigler.

The case dates back to May 18, 2025, when officers responded to the 700 block of West Livingston Street for a reported shooting.

Police found Zeigler suffering from gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Over the past year, detectives with the Orlando Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit continued investigating the case with assistance from crime scene personnel.

Police said that work ultimately led investigators to develop probable cause against Lambert.

The investigation remains active. OPD said no additional details are being released at this time to protect the investigation and future court proceedings.
