Update:
ORLANDO, Fla. — This afternoon, we contacted the Orlando Police for an update on the investigation that occurred on Saturday at Colonial Plaza.
The popular strip mall at Colonial Drive and Bumby Avenue was the scene of the event. Police have not disclosed what they were investigating or if anyone was injured.
Nearby eyewitnesses said they were having lunch when police arrived and began cordoning off the area.
Police investigate developing situation at Orlando plaza
Channel 9 crews are on the scene of a developing situation in Orlando, where local law enforcement has sectioned off parts of a plaza at the intersection of Bumby Avenue and East Colonial Drive.
As of Saturday afternoon, officers have sectioned off areas of the plaza while they investigate. The exact nature of the incident was not immediately clear.
