Orlando Science Center to host charity and legacy planning event in August

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Science Center will host a community event on Aug. 21, 2026, focused on charitable giving and estate planning strategies. The program, titled “The Science of Your Legacy: Your IMPACT,” is designed to provide adults with information on tax-smart ways to support charitable causes.

The event aims to simplify complicated financial topics through a conversational format.

Organizers created the session to help individuals understand how legacy planning can be both accessible and meaningful within a welcoming environment.

The session will cover specific financial instruments, including Donor-Advised Funds, which are charitable investment accounts that allow for immediate tax breaks. Participants will also learn about Qualified Charitable Distributions, IRA giving strategies, and gifts of stock or appreciated assets. Other discussion points include estate and legacy planning, tax-efficient giving, and recurring charitable contributions.

Featured speakers for the event include Michael Clark, a financial planner with Raymond James, and Matt Wasinger, an attorney with Wasinger Law Office, PLLC.

The program is scheduled to run from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Aug. 21, 2026.
