ORLANDO, Fla. — It’s only October, but families considering Orlando Science Schools can already apply for next school year.
The tuition-free public charter school network opened applications Monday for the 2027-28 academic year. It serves six campuses across Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties, with a focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Families can apply online and review enrollment information through Jan. 22. The application system allows families to select up to three schools in order of preference.
For the first time, Seminole Science Charter School will accept applications for 11th grade. The school opened its high school expansion in August and plans to add 12th grade in 2028, according to the network.
Course offerings include engineering, biomedical sciences and a cybersecurity magnet program. Students can also participate in Science Olympiad and VEX Robotics teams, along with sports such as volleyball, basketball and soccer.
Orlando Science Schools CEO Yunus Aksu said the network is looking forward to welcoming more families after 18 years of serving students.
Admission uses a lottery and waitlist system. Students who are not selected in the drawing will be placed on a waitlist and may receive a spot if space becomes available.
