DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — An Ormond Beach police officer was shot overnight, according to investigators, following two separate crimes reported in the area.
The Ormond Beach Police Department confirmed the incidents happened Sunday night.
The first crime happened at Daytona College, where police said there were two victims. Investigators said someone is facing two counts of attempted murder.
Police have not yet released details about what led to the shooting but did confirm they are connected.
Sometime after that incident, investigators said an Ormond Beach police officer was shot. The officer’s condition has not been released.
The Daytona Beach Police Department is handling the investigation into the officer-involved shooting.
Authorities have not yet provided additional details about what happened.
