ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — An Ormond Beach police patrol car was struck by a vehicle during a fatal motorcycle investigation, officials said.
Early Sunday morning, officers said they were dispatched to a head-on crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in the 100 block of Ocean Shore Boulevard.
Officials said the motorcyclist died at the scene. The pickup truck driver was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said Ocean Shore Boulevard was closed to traffic during the investigation.
An Ormond Beach police patrol car that was positioned to block traffic was struck by another driver. An officer was inside the car and was taken to a hospital to be checked out, investigators said.
The investigation is ongoing.
