Boil water advisory issued for Skyline Drive and Moss Court residents

A precautionary advisory was released following a water line break in the Kissimmee area

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Toho Water Authority issued a precautionary boil water advisory Thursday for customers on Skyline Drive and Moss Court in Kissimmee following a water line break in the area. Service was expected to be restored by 4 p.m. Thursday.

The utility said the advisory would take effect once water service was restored and would remain in place until lifted by Toho Water Authority.

A minimum of two days of regulatory testing is required after service restoration to ensure the water meets drinking water standards.

During the advisory, affected customers are advised to boil their water for one minute before consumption. This includes water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes, as well as filtered water. Bottled water may also be used as an alternative.

Water used for laundry, bathing or showering does not need to be boiled. Utility officials noted that the restoration schedule could change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Toho Water Authority said an update on the advisory would be provided by Saturday, Oct. 24.
