I-95 reopens after overturned big rig, major delays

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Hours after a tractor-trailer overturned in the southbound lanes, Interstate 95 in Oakhill reopened on Thursday.

The crash happened earlier near exit 244.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the driver of a truck carrying sheetrock lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn.

The driver was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK.

Crews spent the day cleaning up sheetrock and oil that spilled onto the road.

The accident caused lengthy backups on I-95 as well as State Road 44.
