A pair of land deals totaling nearly $8.5 million in the small west Orange County suburb of Oakland have closed recently — involving two prime properties and two entities tied to a Windermere real estate agent.

The transactions are noteworthy for the town of roughly 5,400, as Orlando Business Journal has confirmed one is tied to an imminent project to build new high-end homes, while the other could precede future investment in a commercial project.
On May 12, Oakland West Five Zero LLC paid $3.9 million for six parcels totaling about vacant 21 acres on the south side of West Colonial Drive, according to Orange County records — about a half-mile east of its interchange with Florida’s Turnpike.
