Councilman Peter Filiberto was arrested last weekend after police said they attempted to pull him over and Filiberto tried to outrun them on his motorcycle.

Palm Bay held its first meeting since the arrest Thursday night.

The city council is formally requesting Gov. Ron DeSantis suspend Filiberto.

If Filiberto would have been at the meeting, he would have heard rant after rant from people who feel he should be fired from his elected position.

The meeting last night was packed and heated. Taxpayers didn’t hold back and neither did elected officials.

It was clear at last night’s Palm Bay City Council meeting that Filiberto is no longer welcome.

Since the city doesn’t have the power to oust or suspend Filiberto themselves, the council voted unanimously to send a letter to the governor’s office asking that the governor suspend the embattled councilman.
