PALM BAY, Fla. — A water main break in Palm Bay prompted an emergency shutdown Friday, leaving several utility customers without water and under a precautionary boil water notice.
The City of Palm Bay said water service was shut down at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 6 and is expected to be restored later Friday.
Precautionary boil water notice
Affected customers are advised to boil water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute. Bottled water can also be used.
The precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until the problem is corrected and a bacteriological survey shows the water is safe to drink. Customers will be notified when the notice is lifted.
