PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A sinkhole in Pasco County that has already swallowed two homes could be growing Friday, deputies said.
The 10-foot-wide by 80-foot-long section on the west side of the sinkhole collapsed overnight, deputies said.
The massive 225-foot-wide sinkhole opened last month on Ocean Pines Drive in Land O’Lakes. Two homes were swallowed up immediately.

A contractor was supposed to start demolishing a third home Friday when crews noticed part of the hole collapsed.
"This kind of stuff is expected. We weren't expecting that big of a piece to fall off, but unfortunately it did. There's no cause to think that it's growing toward your house," said Andrew Fossa, deputy chief of administration for Pasco County Fire Rescue.
A geologist will determine if the sinkhole is growing again. The results are expected early next week.
"There's no need to be alarmed," Fossa said.
Crews are currently working to stabilize the bank of the sinkhole so debris removal can resume, deputies said.
More homes in the area have fallen into the sinkhole.
"You're going to lose parts of the house still. As that sinkhole, that water level, raises and lowers, everything that's floating in there. If that water level drops down a little bit, it's going to pull whatever it's attached to," Fossa said.
