OSTEEN, Fla. — A man and woman mowing a lawn in Osteen found human remains Sunday morning, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said.
The duo found the human remains at 1875 Oak View Farms Road around 9:40 a.m., deputies said.
P.J. Lacette has a dog training business not far from where the body was found.
She said she knew something was wrong when she saw marked sheriff's office cruisers there.
"It's a very quiet area at this point choosing to think at this point somebody dumped it and ran, rather than it's a long term issue," said Lacette.
The deceased person has not yet been identified.
The Sheriff’s Office major case unit will be investigating and working to establish his or her identity.
