Missing woman seen wading in Wekiva River before disappearance

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — The multi-county search for a missing woman in Osceola County continues.

The Sheriff’s Office is continuing to follow up on public tips on Paola Miranda-Rosa, who was last seen on Dec. 17 as she left her grandmother’s house on near South Semoran Boulevard in Orlando.

Osceola County is working in conjunction with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on tips that develop in their jurisdiction.

Video and photos taken by hikers show Rosa-Miranda wading in the Wekiva River on Dec. 18. She was identified as the person in the video by family members.

The sheriff has acquired an underwater video camera system with lights to help search the area of where Rosa-Miranda was last seen, which has the capability to into hard-to-reach areas that can’t be explored by standard scuba equipment, the sheriff’s office said.

Officials will be searching almost five miles up and down the river using the equipment.
