Investigators said the robbery happened just as the restaurant was closing.
Police said the robbers tried to open the safe but were unable to because it was on a timer. The robbers did, however, get away with cash from the register.
First responders said a delivery driver later found the employees inside the freezer.
Neighboring business owners said they are taking precautions.
"We have surveillance, we have security. I will make sure that someone is here. It's been on my mind since I've been back there cooking. It's like, 'Wow, that is too close to home,'" said the owner of Sharon's Home Style Cooking, Sharon Sheffy.
Police said no one was injured.
