DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A body was found Tuesday morning in the Halifax River, the Daytona Beach Police Department said.
A couple walking west along the bridge spotted the body was found floating beneath the Main Street Bridge near Bowman Avenue, police said.

No other details were given.
The bridge was closed so police could investigate the death, but it was reopened at about 8:30 a.m.
The death remains under investigation.
