KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Two men barged into an elderly Kissimmee woman’s home and beat her late Thursday, the Kissimmee Police Department said.
The men invaded the woman’s Brown Street home shortly before 11:45 p.m., said Stacie Miller, a police spokeswoman.
“Officers met with the 85-year-old female victim, who stated she awoke to two men standing over her,” Miller said. “One of the suspects battered the victim and eventually locked her in a bathroom while they burglarized her home.”
The men took the woman’s keys and burglarized her car, Miller said.
"A neighbor noticed the garage door open, and the car was running,” Miller said. “The neighbor approached the car and saw the men sitting in the vehicle. When the neighbor ran home to call 911, the suspects fled on foot.”
One of the men is described as light skinned, about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches and wearing black clothing.
The other man is described as black or dark skinned, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and wearing a red-hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Kissimmee police at 407-846-3333.
