Police investigate case of dog's mouth duct-taped shut

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Daytona Beach police are investigating a Facebook post that shows a picture of a dog with its mouth taped shut.

Police said animal control officers are currently attempting to identify the person responsible and determine if any charges will be filed.

The person posted the picture on Facebook earlier this week and said the dog was being disciplined for doing something wrong, but did not elaborate.

Late last year, South Daytona police tracked down a different woman who duct-taped a dog’s mouth shut. Katherine Lemansky was arrested in North Carolina, but she used to live in South Daytona, where the posted photo was taken.

Lemansky was allowed to keep her dogs because animal control officers said they didn’t find any signs of abuse.
