Police: Lynx security guard arrested for shooting man's car

ORLANDO, Fla. — An Orlando man said he was in fear for his life after he was allegedly shot at by a security guard at Lynx's downtown station.

Basim Ahmed Salahud-Din Wynn is accused of shooting into the victim's vehicle during an argument. Authorities said Salahud-Din Wynn, 62, was patrolling the overnight traffic along Garland Avenue at the time.

According to police, the victim showed up to the Lynx station shortly after 1 a.m. to help a friend change a tire. Salahud-Din Wynn approached the men and told them they needed to leave, police said.

During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly shoved the victim, who then got in his vehicle and started backing up. Investigators said that's when Salahud-Din Wynn, who was standing behind the car, opened fire.

In his arrest report, the victim describes hearing four gunshots and being in fear for his life.

The Lynx security guard was charged with discharging a firearm and battery. He bonded out of the Orange County Jail hours after his arrest.

Records show Salahud-Din Wynn is certified as a private investigator and security guard.

Officials with Lynx told Channel 9 the suspect was a contract employee and has been dismissed from working at any Lynx property.
