APOPKA, Fla. — Investigators say a man who admits he shot and killed his roommate in November claims he did so in self-defense.
Police have identified 56-year-old Paul Neff as the person who called 911 just before 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5 to report a shooting at a home on Villa Lane in Apopka.
The victim, identified as 46-year-old Sean Davis, was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police say Neff admitted to firing the gunshot that killed Davis, but claims he did it in self-defense.
There were no other witnesses to the shooting.
The Apopka Police Department, through a partnership with the Joint Homicide Investigation Team, has completed their investigation and forwarded the results to the State Attorney’s Office.
Investigators say the State Attorney’s Office will make the final decision as to whether the shooting will be determined to be a justifiable homicide.
