KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A 47-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday evening in a home, the Kissimmee Police Department said.
The shooting was reported at about 8:30 p.m. at a home on Jessa Drive in the Marisol at Lakeside subdivision near Simpson and Fortune roads, Kissimmee police Lt. Camille Alicea said.
Police found Jorge Luis Velez unresponsive in the home, and he was pronounced dead, Alicea said.

A next-door neighbor told Channel 9 that she heard gunfire and then heard a woman screaming.
Investigators said Velez didn't live at the home.
Neighbor Carlos Ramirez said he and a friend were leaving to go to a gas station when he saw a woman with a child and a dog come out of a home screaming.
"She was really paranoid and scared," Ramirez said. "She started yelling for help, so we obviously stopped. We were concerned. We don't know the situation -- how bad it is -- but we see somebody yelling for help, so we stop."
The crime scene was cleared after about eight hours of investigation, but a police officer returned to the scene when a bullet was found across the street.
The death remains under investigation.
