SANFORD, Fla. — The 911 calls detailing Tuesday's pit bull attack that left one woman hospitalized with critical injuries were released Thursday.

Both the video of the attack, at Stonebrook Apartments in Sanford, and the 911 calls were very graphic. The call to police lasted eight minutes, during which barking and screaming can be heard.

The caller can also be heard telling dispatch she cannot calm down because the victim is dying and the dogs won't let go of her arm.

A clip between police dispatch and animal services describes the incident by saying, "Dogs attacking humans. Multiple dogs. Multiple humans."

The dispatcher also said he or she believed one of the dogs had been shot.

The victims were Shannon Bethea and April Farley. Several children under the age of 13 were also in the apartment with the six dogs.

Police said Wednesday that it's possible the dogs were involved in a similar attack in December at another apartment complex.

Reports said the dogs belonged to Sean Pitts. He signed the dogs over to animal services after the December attack but got them back, and animal services has not said why.

The five dogs involved in Tuesday's attack were killed, and the sixth was taken by animal services.

The conditions of the victims have not been updated.
