Police searching for suspect after person shot during Orlando carjacking

ORLANDO, Fla. — Police are looking for a suspect after a person was shot during an armed carjacking Wednesday afternoon, Orlando police said.

It happened around 3 p.m. in the 1600 block of Prospect Avenue. One person was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound, according to police.

Northbound Hiawassee Road was shut down as officers locate the suspect, who fled an abandoned vehicle.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is assisting Orlando police with the investigation.

As of 6:20 p.m., the suspect had still not been located and detectives are working to identify the suspect. The victim remains in stable condition.
