MOUNT DORA, Fla. — Mount Dora police are searching for a group of armed, masked men who robbed a bank Monday morning.

Police responded to an alarm coming from the BB&T Bank on North Donnelly Street around 11:50 a.m. after four men entered the bank armed with handguns and demanded cash.

The men left with an undisclosed amount of cash, got into a black SUV with a getaway driver waiting inside and took off, police said.

Police found the SUV believed to have been used in the robbery, a black Saturn SUV that had been stolen out of Seminole County, within 5 minutes of responding to the bank.

Detectives are currently working to get a warrant to search the Saturn.

The robbery briefly locked down some nearby schools, the Lake County School District said.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Mount Dora Police Department or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
