POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A teenager was arrested after police said he sexually battered a woman at gunpoint after breaking into her home Thursday morning.
Police said Trevon Miller, 15, walked into the victim’s home about 4 a.m. through an unlocked back door.
Miller forced a resident of the home into a closet and then went to a bedroom, where an adult female was sleeping, according to reports.
He pointed the gun at her head, demanded she undress, then sexually battered her, police said.
The person who was locked in the closet escaped, ran into the room and started to yell.
Miller fled the scene.
Police said the female victim had met the suspect before and was able to give a clear description to police.
A Polk County Sheriff’s Office K-9 spotted Miller running close to the home and bit the suspect.
Miller was treated at a nearby hospital and released to police.
Police said a BB pistol was recovered where Miller was caught.
Miller is facing charges of battery, false imprisonment and sexual battery with threat of force.
