POLK COUNTY, Fla. — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deputy-involved shooting that occurred on Thursday.
The shooting, which happened in the Kathleen area, left a suspect dead.
According to PCSO, a K-9 deputy was injured in the shooting.
K-9 deputy “Ace” was taken to an emergency vet clinic, where he underwent surgery, according to Sheriff Grady Judd.
PCSO will hold a briefing to further discuss the incident.
