Port Orange man killed in Daytona Beach shooting

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Daytona Beach police are trying to find the person responsible for killing a Port Orange man Saturday.

Police were called to the 700 block of North Oleander Avenue just after midnight where they found a woman attempting CPR on the victim on the ground next to a car.

Police determined the victim, identified as 19-year-old Ethan Halverson, had been shot during an argument with another person at the Overlook at Daytona Apartments on Seabreeze Boulevard.

After the shooting, friends who were with Halverson at the time loaded him into a car and drove him to Oleander Avenue.

Paramedics continued performing CPR on Halverson before taking him to Halifax Hospital where he died from a single gunshot wound.

Police didn’t identify the shooter but said they do have a suspect and are working to take that person into custody.
